How is actin polymerization regulated in a living cell? We research actin regulatory mechanisms by utilizing single molecule kinetics.

About Ikuko (Ikko) Fujiwara

The goal of all my projects is the ultimate understanding of how actin driven cell motility is regulated by feedback and adjusting to cell function. Using single molecule kinetic analysis through quantitative cell biological, molecular biological, biochemical and biophysical approaches, I would like to try to reveal the feedback system regulating actin polymerization in cells.
